What actually matters on this lane
The most expensive line in an export shipment is usually not the ocean freight but the duty preference that went unused. A certificate of origin costs very little to issue, yet it decides the duty band for the entire shipment — the same Indonesian-origin goods can land in a completely different tax bracket depending on whether the paperwork exists. This page covers rules and qualification only, not rates.
Destination ports and typical cargo
| Port / scope | Note |
|---|---|
| Jakarta — Tanjung Priok | Indonesia's largest gateway: the widest service range and densest sailings |
| Semarang — Tanjung Emas | Central Java factories load at their doorstep; direct weekly calls to ASEAN |
| Surabaya — Tanjung Perak | East Java gateway, second-densest direct services |
Typical export cargo
- Furniture, leather and food (concentrated at Surabaya)
- Textiles and manufacturing equipment (around Semarang)
- General cargo (widest range at Jakarta)
Documents and duty points
- Indonesian export declaration PEB (Pemberitahuan Ekspor Barang) — the statutory export filing; we handle it.
- Certificate of origin — chosen by destination: US Form A, ASEAN Form D, EU Form E Indonesian version.
- VGM, packing list and commercial invoice — kept consistent with the PEB and the bill of lading.
- Destination import licences (regulated categories such as food, cosmetics and electronics) — checked shipment by shipment.

- Indonesia side: collection, PEB export filing and loading, with Jakarta / Semarang / Surabaya as options
- In transit: bill of lading and VGM verification; ISF (10+2) filed 24 hours before loading for US cargo
- Destination clearance plus inland delivery to door, DDP or DAP arranged per shipment

Send us the origin (factory address), destination port or door address, container type and count, commodity and estimated ship date. We will come back with a routing proposal and transit range per direction; where a duty preference applies (GSP / Form D / CEPA), we verify origin eligibility before talking price.
