What actually matters on this lane
Southeast Asia is the lane we are most confident about: direct weekly sailings, book today and sail within days — short enough to work like a ferry across the strait. What makes it stronger is that Semarang and Surabaya are served directly by the intra-ASEAN weekly services, so factories in Central and East Java load at their doorstep instead of trucking to Jakarta and back, saving both time and inland haulage (the Indonesia–Thailand weekly service opened in 2026 calls at both Semarang and Surabaya). Add the ASEAN Form D certificate of origin and the buyer's duty bill drops further.
Destination ports and typical cargo
| Port / scope | Note |
|---|---|
| Singapore | The ASEAN hub and the transshipment origin for both our Europe and US lanes |
Typical export cargo
- Food and beverage
- Furniture and homeware
- Consumer goods and personal care
- Electronic components
- Palm-oil products
Documents and duty points
- Indonesian export declaration PEB — the statutory export filing; we handle it.
- ASEAN Form D certificate of origin — Indonesian exports to the ten ASEAN member states receive ATIGA tariff preference with Form D; the actual reduction follows each destination's tariff schedule and agreed rates, and we assist with issuance.
- VGM, packing list and commercial invoice — kept consistent with the PEB and the bill of lading.
- Destination import licences (food, cosmetics, electronics categories) — checked shipment by shipment before loading.
Export process in six steps
- Send us the factory address, destination port or door address, container type and count, commodity and estimated ship date
- We check the HS code and origin qualification (GSP / Form D / CEPA) and confirm the duty band for this shipment
- You receive the routing proposal and transit range (quoted in USD, pass-through)
- Indonesia side: collection, PEB export filing and loading, with Jakarta / Semarang / Surabaya as options
- In transit: bill of lading and VGM verification; ISF (10+2) filed 24 hours before loading for US cargo
- Destination clearance plus inland delivery to door, DDP or DAP arranged per shipment
Booking to delivery on the Singapore lane: the timeline, and where it slips
Daily sailings and a 2-4 day transit make this lane behave more like a truck service than a shipping lane: a missed cut-off costs you a day, not a week. That moves the attention to the export filing rather than the vessel.
- Confirm the commodity and whether an origin claim applies — Form D for the ASEAN destinations, and GSP / Form A or CEPA depending on the direction.
- Collection at the factory, then the PEB export declaration filed and the container loaded at Jakarta Tanjung Priok, Semarang Tanjung Emas or Surabaya Tanjung Perak.
- VGM, packing list and commercial invoice kept consistent with the PEB and the bill of lading before the box sails.
- 2-4 days at sea. Because sailings are daily, a container held for a document problem is recovered the next day rather than the next week.
- Destination clearance at Singapore is a separate formality from the Indonesian export leg — arrange DDP or DAP at booking if you want it inside our scope.
- For Europe and the US the container transships at Singapore onto a mainline vessel; Singapore is the hub, as there is no direct Indonesia-Europe service.
On the export side the clock runs in reverse: free time on the equipment is consumed while the box waits to be loaded, and detention begins once a container is out of the terminal and not yet returned empty. Both are set out in free time and D/O release and demurrage, detention and storage.

Next step
Send us the origin (factory address), destination port or door address, container type and count, commodity and estimated ship date. We will come back with a routing proposal and transit range per direction; where a duty preference applies (GSP / Form D / CEPA), we verify origin eligibility before talking price.
